We would like to take this opportunity to give heartfelt thanks to Mr. Danny Dunleavy who has been a Governor at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Primary School, Horden for the last 25 years.
Mr Dunleavy has dedicated his time and experience monitoring the continuous improvement of the day to day management of the school and the wellbeing of the children and staff in a voluntary capacity.
We feel it crucial to acknowledge his contributions and let him know how much he is valued by everyone in the school.
Well done Mr. Dunleavy!

On 21st October Mr Malcolm Fallow from East Durham Trust visited our school to join us for the Harvest Festival Assembly. He was overwhelmed by the generosity from the pupils, staff and parents who had donated tinned goods, cereals, biscuits, cleaning and personal items for the local food bank. Miss Jones also presented him with a cheque for £100 to purchase fresh produce. (See photographs of the assembly in the gallery)

Well done to everyone who baked, donated and turned up to our Macmillan coffee morning on 30th September 2016. As usual, we had a wonderful response to our invitation to come along and help us raise funds for this very worthwhile charity. We raised the staggering amount of £500. A massive thank you to the members of the SVP who helped serve the cakes and cold drinks on the day. (See photographs of the day in the gallery)

In September 2016 we took advantage of the offer from Taylor Shaw to borrow some of their ‘Fun with Food’ resources to help promote our ‘Healthy Eating Week.’ The children (and staff) had great fun making delicious fruit smoothies, ice cream, pasta and yoghurt. Check out the gallery to see the photos.
