2021/22
Now we can open back up our clubs and have visitors again within the school we are taking full advantage, check out our range of clubs available for your child on our after schools page.
- One of our pupils had the amazing opportunity to take part in a swim session/meet and greet with Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty! What an amazing opportunity for a young swimmer to be involved with!

We were thrilled to be able to take our Y6 children out on a fun packed activity day! First we started off at Seaham marina for a morning of kayaking and paddle boarding, followed up by a trip to Durham climbing wall! Great fun had by all!
2019/20
During the autumn term KS1 have enjoyed attending dance and Zumba clubs whilst KS2 have had the opportunity to participate in football, dodgeball and kick boxing. Clubs have been very popular this term. Due to popularity Kick boxing will continue and KS1 will be offered the chance to take part in hoopstarz.
During the autumn term the whole school have experienced taster sessions New Age Curling …..
and Judo.
Everyone had a fantastic time in both these new areas.
Competitions and festivals
Children in Class 4 have represented the school as part of a tag rugby tournament in which they did very well.
Class 2 also took part in a gymnastics festival.

Football
Joseph Richardson has been selected to play for Middlesbrough Youth First Team! His first match took place on the 7/11/17 and the team had a successful 7-1 win! Great work Joseph!!!
Martial Arts
We send huge congratulations to Bradley Birks, one of our Y5 pupils, for his outstanding achievement in the recent
Creative/Traditional Weapons section of the WMO World Championships 2017 held in Dublin, Northern Ireland.
Bradley achieved a Bronze Medal for his age category when he came up against competitors from all over the world.
Well Done Bradley!!!
Football
Matches are suspended until Feb 2018
Dance
Many of our students take part in dancing competitions throughout the year!
Brooke Stokoe is one of them who travels the country competing.
Curriculum
All our children take part in at least 2 hours of PE.
Class 1 – We are exploring ways of moving, following instructions and using the floor ladders.
Class 2 – Mrs Hall has visited our class and helped us develop some gymnastic routines and techniques.
Class 3 – As part of our ongoing gymnastics work we have explored balancing
Class 4 – We have developed team games as a group.
Swimming
All our KS2 students take part in swimming sessions at our local pool. Students are allocated a specific session and rewards given through the puffin swimming scheme. Achievement badges are purchased by the school to help celebrate the child’s success.
Our aim is to have all pupils swimming at least 25 metres by the time they leave us in Year 6.
The swimming programme is as follows:
Sept -Dec – Y4
Jan – March – Y3
April – May – Y5
June – July – Y6 catch up for all students who cannot swim 25 metres.
After School Clubs
Football
Mrs Reineck and Brian Honour run a training session on a Wednesday evening (3-4pm) to develop key skills and team tactics for anyone who wants to learn more about playing football.
From this session a team of 10 pupils were chosen to represent the school in a local league.
Cricket
We have a 6 week course running with KS2 children which is ran by the School Sport Partnership. Check out our photos in the Gallery.
Fitness Fun
Miss Hutton is running a KS2 fitness club each Thursday evening to have fun whilst getting fit and active!
Teams
Our Football team which is ran by Miss Reineck has enjoyed a number of matches this Summer term!
